Canvasrebel.com:

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Valerie Engel. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Valerie below.

Valerie, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
We are not the ordinary online boutique!

We offer personal deliveries, personal shopping and custom orders. Before placing an order we are happy to answer any questions and send more photos. Finally, we are able to search for any specific item we are asked for, order any size etc…

Our services are personal, we are in touch with our clients and text/email them each arrivals they would like.

Finally, our goal is to make shopping a pleasure and accommodate anyone who does not have time to do so!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We are a French boutique, personal and online boutique. I was working in fashion in Paris for 5 years before moving to Miami and open my dream boutique! We recently moved online after having a boutique in South Beach for the past 6 years. During the mandatory Covid closure and while having a strong database I understood the importance of online and personal shopping. Thus, with having 2 babies I thought it was time to make that transition. We sell woman, baby and kids clothing, accessories, gifts etc… We only sell items we love and make sure of its quality, fabrics etc…
As a small business we are also happy to support local brands and small designers as well.

Finally, we support our community with adult and me classes in the park, we are not only online!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Being kind, open and selling difference. Anyone can have a shop but when you walk in the customer service makes it all. Finally, selling items the boutique next to you or a couple block does not have!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I have so many answers to this questions…! Quitting my life to start from scratch in a new country, opening a new business, making it work and making it work during COVID, going through this huge immigration journey, all the bumps on the way, the list is so long I could spend hours writing it! Meanwhile, I would take this challenge all over again and I am very proud about it!
